Glitter, Sparkle, Twinkle... what's the difference?

What's the difference between Siser's Glitter, Sparkle, and Twinkle heat transfer vinyls?

Let's start by finding the similarities between all these products:

  • They are all Heat Transfer Vinyl (HTV)
  • They can be cut on any vinyl cutter
  • They can be applied with either an iron or a heat press
  • They work on the same materials: cotton, polyester, and poly/cotton blends
  • None of them will 'shed' glitter flakes after application – which is good news for those of us who don't want to deal with glitter on everything.

With so many great options now available, how do you choose the right one for your project?
We've collected all the information to help you make the right choice!

Will it be Siser Glitter, Sparkle, or Twinkle? Maybe all three?

So, what's the difference between these three types of glittering HTV? The biggest difference is in how they look.

Glitter, Sparkle, Twinkle… what's the difference?

Siser Glitter Flex  is a thicker material with a textured, almost sand-like feel when applied.

It cannot be layered on top of each other – but you can use it as a top layer over other types of HTV like EasyWeed.

Glitter has one of the largest color ranges in the catalog: it comes in 48 vibrant colors.

Another fantastic feature of Glitter is that you can sublimate on 2 colors: White/Rainbow White! This feature is unique to Glitter and cannot be done with Sparkle or Twinkle.

It is Oeko-Tex certified. This means it is safe to use on baby clothes.

Siser Sparkle heat transfer vinyl with glitter effect

Siser Sparkle is the thinnest glitter vinyl available. When applied, it is super smooth to the touch, because the glitter flakes are embedded in the material.

Sparkle is very special, because it can be layered on top of each other – just like EasyWeed!

We also LOVE Sparkle Clear Glitter: you can use this color to give Easyweed a whole new look by layering it over your favorite color or adding it as a featured element in specific areas.

Siser Twinkle

Siser Twinkle is somewhere in between the two other options, but with a unique feature.

The glitter flakes inside the product have reflective properties; when light hits the material, you'll see the smooth silicone finish pop out.

Twinkle is not as thin as Sparkle, but not as thick as Glitter. It cannot be layered on top of each other, but like Glitter, it can be used as a top layer over Easyweed or other HTV types that can be layered.

Now, it's just a matter of trying all three and finding out which one is best for you!!
